Can You Be Too Old for an ADHD Diagnosis?

I am 51 years old. Am I too old to be diagnosed and treated for ADHD?

Answer

Certainly not! Kudos to you for seeking a diagnosis and treatment after all these years. Although it's true that your doctor will need to take your age and any other medical conditions you have or medications you take into account when choosing a safe treatment, you're definitely not too old to benefit from this.

Keep in mind that ADHD always develops during childhood, so if this is a new problem for you, it's probably not ADHD. Either way, a visit to your doctor is in order to find the underlying cause of any symptoms you may be having.
